Juicing for Beginners The Essential Guide to Juicing Recipes and Juicing for Weight Loss Rockridge Press 9781623152161 Books Reviews

  • Great book to get you going. Had a lot of recipes. Just remember less in more. Use three different foods per juice otherwise you start to blend way to many flavors.
  • While most people probably think juicing is just a quick way to lose weight--only to have it pile back on when you return to eating food again--Juicing for Beginners claims it can actually help "transform your health and your life." While the book certainly delves into the idea of juicing for weight loss, it also offers a healthier perspective on juicing, one focused on providing yourself a way to take in more fruits and vegetables than you may normally ingest. It also highlights benefits such as helping improve or even reverse symptoms of high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma. Finally, it offers an insight into why juicing is more beneficial than just eating raw fruits and vegetables, which is what I found to be most interesting and valuable. This book is a great first step to attaining a healthier lifestyle and a smaller waistline.
  • Great recipe ideas. You can get them all on line by doing a search of Juices for beginners, but it's nice to have them all In one book. Would have liked more pictures. I'm like a 5 year old and like pictures with my recipes. HARD TO READ INGREDIENTS LIST BECAUSE THEY USED INVISABLE INK. HOW DID THE PUBLISHER APPROVE THIS??!! Very hard to read
  • Love the book so giving it 1 star but the pages are not numbered. Returned the first one but the 2nd is the same. The index lists page numbers though but doesn’t help if the pages aren’t numbered. So annoying.
  • All the recipe pages are written in a tiny font and the ingredients are in a light green font color that is difficult to read. The entire bottom half of all the recipe pages is blank and they should have increased the font size to fit the page so you can set it on the counter and read it without having to lean into it. Guess I'll just have to use carrots in all my juices to improve my vision. (See pic)
  • The recipes look good -- but good luck finding them! There is an index in the back with page number references if you want to look up a recipe that uses things like beets, HOWEVER the book contains NO PAGE NUMBERS! It is impossible to quickly look up a recipe, unless you want to study the book for a good 20-minutes each time. Elementary mistake that is extremely frustrating. I would not recommend this book for someone on-the-go
  • I do like this book. Easy breakdown, logical order, and great recipes that are easy to understand. I think the layout could have been better. There are a lot of negative reviews because of "no page numbers." Page numbers are actually on the side of the book by the health indicator pictures in the green circle.

However, I have not been able to find a key or directory of what the picture of health benefits mean. Also, for some reason this page does not allow unfortunately I'm not able to ask that question.
  • It's a good book. The main thing I dislike is for some of the recipes it will say "Use one bunch of ...." When harvesting out of my garden or buying at a farmer's market, I don't know how much that is.
