• With the advent of Common Core all teachers must rethink their teaching practice. Instructional Guides or Instructional Coaches with strong relational skills, effective classroom practice and deep understanding of the demands of the Common Core will be transformation makers in supporting student achievement. This book can support coaches in finding their way with adults in schools.
• I am a 3rd year instructional coach and my district provided very little training. After reading this book it confirmed what I was doing right, gave me insight and lots of ideas. Easy read. Great for ADMINISTRATORS too!

• This book promotes an approach to coaching derived from "life coaching" and is not appropriate for the professional development of educators. While it includes some useful elements, it is overly complex, and assumes that becoming an effective teacher is a matter of self-discovery, rather than a profession grounded in research, standards, and rigor that can be learned and practiced. The authors fail to address issues of race and equity. There is much better stuff out there.
